How to run a Serie A prediction league
We run a Serie A prediction league of our own, and most of what goes wrong in it comes from one thing: the round is spread out, and people forget the games they weren't expecting.

The season in numbers
Twenty clubs play each other home and away: 38 rounds of 10 matches, 380 in all, from August to the end of May.
A round spread over four days
A Serie A round is usually spread from Friday to Monday, with matches at many different times, including a Sunday lunchtime kick-off. Few matches start together, which suits a prediction league: you can watch one game, then predict the next.
The catch is the Friday and Monday games. People fill in the weekend on Saturday morning and find Friday's match already locked, or forget Monday night altogether. Every match on PrediSportsHQ closes at its own kick-off, and players with alerts on get a reminder a couple of hours before each one. Get everyone to switch alerts on when they join; it saves more points than any advice.
Midweek rounds
Serie A plays a few full rounds midweek each season. Those deadlines catch people out the most. Send a short announcement the day before (Admin, then Messages): it goes to every player's phone and stays on your league's home page for a week.
Christmas and the international breaks
Serie A has only a short pause around Christmas and New Year, and it stops for the international breaks in September, October, November and March. A fortnight with nothing to predict is when people drift away. On the Friday before the league restarts, post the title-race picture from Admin, then Stats, with the next deadline.
For choosing the points, read how the points work. Choose “Your competition's colours” when you set up and the league wears azzurro, white and gold.
The real table and the AI
Your league's Table page has a second view with the real Serie A table, so players can check the standings without leaving. The AI's call on every Serie A match, and how it did, is on the Serie A predictions page.
PrediSportsHQ has no connection with the Serie A or any of its clubs. It's a free tool for running your own prediction league.
